Rennies

One of the first large-scale "adventures" Lili had after she was born, aside from the post-baby baby shower hosted by Nana in Owatonna, was a trip to the Renaissance Festival with the moms and the grandmas. Ren Fest, as it's referred to by those "in the know", was a fixture in Mama's life for a number of years (there were some birds of prey...and intricately braided hair...and fur lined boots involved), so she was anxious to pass the proverbial "legend" on to our daughter. Our attendance at Renaissance has now become something of a tradition, as we dragged the grandmas along this year for the 2nd Annual Ren Fest Expedition. Despite a stuffy nose and some intense Shakopee sunshine, Lili had one "huzzah" of a good time.

"Pickle me".

Expanding our barnyard animal repertoire.

It's true. We bought a leash for Lili. And, despite the horror stories I've heard about "leash kids" (see: lack of impulse control, no sense of boundaries, etc.) it worked quite well for navigating the Renaissance crowd. So well, in fact, that Lili often requests her leash at home. Just for, you know, wearing around the living room.

Lili earns her fairy wings. And a hug from Mommy.

It was indeed another wonderful Renaissance day.....looking forward to next year! And her leash is so much cuter than her Uncle Josh's was!

Perhaps next year she will earn her wolf tail...from the Leather Rose.
